Color Testing Notes

Moonshine Mica Glitter is such a mysterious and beautiful color, filled with tiny flecks of blue and silver that shimmer like moonlight. In cold process soap, that sparkle gets a bit lost, but in clear mediums, it absolutely shines. Since it’s made with synthetic mica, it offers incredible clarity and brilliance.

Use Rate

CP Soap: 3 teaspoons per pound of oils.
MP Soap: .5 teaspoon per pound of soap base.

More or less can be added to achieve your desired color.

Use Notes

Mica-based glitters are the only glitter we have found that can add sparkle to cold process soaps! They need to be used at about 3 teaspoons per pound of oils to achieve a sparkle effect.

They can also be used with bath bombs to add fine glittery effect to the water.

Beautiful Shimmery Soap

I used moonshine enviroglitter to color my cold process soap. I turned out to be the most beautiful and shimmery blue I have ever seen. I used the same amount as I would use a mica and it left the soap shiny and shimmery. When my soap cured the color stayed bright and I could see the shimmer in the soap even more. Moonshine is a very beautiful color.

Of the Eco sparkles I've bought from them, this one might be my favorite. I use it all the time for both toppers as well as blends for making soap. It's so much fun to use! It's shimmery, but not as fine as micah powders like Red Enigma. As with many of their sparkles, I use it for both light and dark blends.

Wonderful as shimmery colorant in cold process soap

I used it to color a portion of the soap and the shimmer can be seen on the bars. I mixed with starry night ecoglitter but it was mostly this one. It is hard to see the shimmer in this picture but you can see it in real life when light hits it.

The twinkly side of the moon!

I bought a sample size of this Enviroglitter awhile ago, and surprisingly, even after using this to dust the tops of my CP loaves & in MP embeds, it's lasted me quite a long time! When I run out, I will DEFINITELY be back for more, as these are an outstanding alternative to plastic-based glitters! This color in particular is the dreamiest, most stunning shade of blue! It has instant "WOW" factor! My next crafty adventure will be incorporating this glitter directly into CP soap to give the bars some gorgeous sparkle (just as Katie Carson demonstrated when she used one of NS's BEAUTIFUL Enviroglitters in her awesome grape soda-inspired soap)! I've found that the texture of these Enviroglitters is MUCH softer & finer than many traditional plastic-based glitters are, so they have not felt scratchy on my skin at all! The shimmer of this Enviroglitter is STUNNING, it looks AMAZING in & on my soapy projects, and when it washes down the drain, it's NOT polluting oceans & waterways with micro-plastics!... So these are just an all-around WIN in my book! They make me proud to state on my soap's packaging that the glitter I used is eco-friendly!

Soft hue

Its definately still shimmering after saponification but next time I used a little more to get the blue hues a little stronger.

Perfect Blue

This is the perfect blue for sprucing up my soaps (not bath bombs). This is my most commonly used glitter.

Bright blue glitter

Used this for a Planet themed soap, rolled my soap planet balls in a mix of this glitter and the gold eco glitter and was super happy with the results. Mixed into my blue portion to represent galaxies and it gave the perfect amount of glint in the finally product.

shimmer and shine

Loved this enviroglitter. when it hits the light just right it gives such a cool effect. Comes out a much darker blue in the finished soap then what you see in the jar but still a very cool blue.

Bright Sparkly Blue!

Love this one - I used to use gold or silver, but wanted something different. I make hangar swirl soaps and put a couple layers of sparkle in as well….this beautiful blue was a great choice. ThNk you, Nurture Soap!
