FDA Compliance Declaration

Product safety and regulatory compliance are fundamental to how we operate. We select cosmetic colorants for compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) color additive regulations for soap, cosmetics and body care, and we label each one with the uses it is approved for.

How We Check and Label Colorants

Every colorant we sell is checked against the FDA color additive regulations before it is listed. Dyes and lakes that require batch certification are FDA batch-certified and labeled with their certification numbers and lot tracking. On a colorant's product page, the approved-use row states whether it is approved for eyes, lips, bath bombs and general body use. Where a colorant carries no cosmetic approval, such as our biodegradable glitters, the row says so and the page describes what it is for instead. Color sets show their approvals on the pages of the colorants they contain and through the Eye-Safe and Lip & Bath Bomb collections they appear in.

Staying Current

We monitor FDA color additive regulations, ingredient safety updates and labeling requirements, and update product pages when a rule or an approval changes.

Using Our Colorants

Whether you are making cold process soap, melt and pour, lotion, scrubs or other body care, the approved-use row on the product page is the place to check before you formulate. If a colorant is not approved for a use, such as lips or the eye area, that is stated there.
