Soap Cutters

The size refers to the length of loaf the cutter is built to handle. The 9" cutter is suited to smaller, single loaf batches, while the 18" cutter accommodates longer loaves, like double or slab-sized batches. Both use the same multi-wire design, just scaled to fit a longer or shorter loaf.

The loaf sits inside a wooden guide box fitted with multiple evenly spaced wires. In a single pass, you pull the full set of wires through the loaf at once, slicing the entire loaf into bars all at the same time, rather than cutting one bar at a time. This gives you a full batch of evenly sized bars in one motion.

These are the wires used in our multi-bar cutters, giving you a clean, precise cut across the whole loaf at once without dragging or tearing the bars.

Using a dedicated multi-bar cutter (rather than a kitchen knife) is the biggest factor, since a single pull through evenly spaced wires keeps every bar straight and consistent. Make sure your soap has fully hardened to the right firmness before cutting; too soft, and the bars can drag or deform; too hard (like fully cured melt and pour), and the wires can snap.

For cold process soap, most bars are ready to cut within a day or two of unmolding, once they're firm enough to hold a clean edge but not yet fully cured. These multi-bar cutters are designed for cold process soap only; melt and pour soap is too hard once fully set and can break the wires, so it should be cut with a knife instead.
