Our candle dyes are a super concentrated formula, so you only need a few drops for bold color, typically around 3 to 4 drops per pound of wax for a medium shade. Start light and build up, since it's much easier to deepen a color than to lighten one once it's mixed in.

Wax type has a big effect on the final shade. Paraffin waxes tend to produce more vibrant, saturated color, while soy waxes typically come out softer and more pastel. Other factors, like additives such as stearic acid and the fragrance you use, can also shift the final result.
