Phthalate-Free Fragrance Statement

Every fragrance oil we sell is made without phthalates. That covers our whole fragrance line: PureScent, PureScent+, and every other oil and fragrance blend.

What Phthalates Are

Phthalates are a family of chemicals that were once common in fragrance, where diethyl phthalate (DEP) was used as a solvent and to help a scent last. Some phthalates have been linked to effects on the hormone system, so we leave all of them out.

Phthalates We Exclude

  • Diethyl phthalate (DEP)
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)
  • Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP)
  • Dimethyl phthalate (DMP)
  • Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP)
  • Diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP)
  • Diisononyl phthalate (DINP)

How to Check

Each fragrance product page links to the oil's Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Section 3 of most of our SDS includes a line for diethyl phthalate showing 0.00%; the rest don't list any phthalate at all. If a sheet is ever being corrected, the product page says so until the updated sheet is posted.

Our Promise

Every new fragrance we add is held to the same standard, and we confirm it with our suppliers as part of sourcing.
