Color Testing Notes
INCI: FD&C Yellow No. 5 Dye, FD&C Blue No. 1 Dye
FDA Approved Use
- Eyes: Yes
- Lips: Yes
- Bath Bombs: Yes
- General Body Use: Yes
Use Rate
- CP Soap: Dyes are not recommended for CP soap. They tend to morph, migrate into other colors, and bleed.
- MP Soap: Dyes are absolutely wonderful for use in melt & pour and liquid soaps. Dilute the dye with a bit of water then add to your soap.
- Bath Bombs: Dyes are best when bloomed before adding to your bath bomb recipe. Blooming means to dissolve a bit of dye in water first, then add to the baking soda that goes in your bath bomb mix.
Use Notes
The powder in the jar may look different than you expect! Dyes need to be added to water to turn into their true color.
Dyes are very concentrated! A little goes a very long way. Dye can stain hands, counter tops, or anything it touches. Wear gloves and protect all work surfaces.

It's difficult to come by a pretty green without mixing it yourself. I was so happy to have found this green for my bath fizzies and truffles!
Excellent
I made dinosaur bath bombs with this dye, worked very well, and the customer was very pleased.

Blend it with my baking soda making embeds. ITS BEAUTIFUL! Gonna buy more in future
So this is my first time purchasing dyes for bath bombs and I will never look back. This green is an awesome bright green shade, definitely goes a long way!
Fantastic colour payoff - a little really goes a long way.
My usage rates were 1/16tsp dye to 1cup of Baking Soda.
At first I thought I had gotten the wrong item. This is orange and it turns green in water. Pretty cool!
These dyes are really great, a little goes a long way. The saturation is very deep so start very small and work your way up.
I like my bubble scoops to be super colorful, and these lakes and dyes are perfect! You only need a little scoop to get extremely vibrant colors, and my customers love them. I'll keep coming back for more, and it's especially nice that you can break up payments if needed.
This dye does NOT disappoint! Who doesn't love to get lost in a tub full of green minty awesomeness?
I have been making bath bombs for over a year now and this green really takes the cake with the dye load and colors!! So vibrant, creates streaks of waters that are beyond amazing! Definitely buy, and bloom these dyes! You won’t regret it!
I do use poly 80 with my dyes, because while they don't dye the tub; they can still dye the person. At a ratio of 1/16 tsp dye to 1 tsp water for 8 ounces of baking soda, this dye will give you a a light green (see shamrocks in photo).
I purchased this dye for my business with the intention of using it to make green bath bombs. When mixed with baking soda it doesn’t come out as GREEN unless you mix in a ton of dye so I did have to add some lakes to the colour to make the outside of my bath bombs actually green. To get the colour pictured for my embeds I used 16 0.15cc scoops of dye to 5 cups baking soda. Not too sure if that’s safe so will do research.
If you aren't blooming your dye first this could be the reason your aren't getting the color you want. Dyes give the best color when bloomed first!
Due to Chromium Green, getting a safe green color is near-impossible and ill-advised for anyone making bath bombs. This product on the other hand, it made my products absolutely pop without blooming the color. Just mixing produced an absolutely brilliant and gorgeous color for my products. I will definitely be buying more!
I love this dye powder, very convenient. No need to mix other dyes to get such a perfect gree
I use this in my bath bombs and it is the perfect green!!! I absolutely love it!! The picture I've shared is when I bloomed it. 😍😍
I normally only make cold processed bar soaps during the holidays, but I thought this holiday let me do something different and use dyes to make bath bombs! I brought 5g to use with bath bombs. Mix with citric acid, spritz 3 times with a spray bottle of water and the color just pops! I had never used dyes before so I struggled in the beginning mixing, but after a few flops (lol) I got a super cute green. The 5g is just the the right size for anyone wanting to try the color without breaking the bank!
I tried this in my airbrush gun the other day and love the results! I also have used it in regular bath bomb mix and love it there too of course. Just a tiny bit got the perfect shade I had wanted
I use this green dye for all of my bath bombs & bath soaks - you can get a lighter or darker shade, depending on how much you put in, but you do not need a lot - a little goes a long way! This is the only green I use for these products anymore!
I love this green color! When I bloomed it I was a little nervous it would be dull, bit as soon as I added my oils it turned bright!!
It took our business a while to figure out how to color bath bombs in the best possible way. Using the dye is absolutely amazing!! We read up on "blooming" the colors, and now our bath bombs color the water SO beautifully. This is a beautiful green color. Not green-green, but has a hint of turquoise in it. The price is right and you only need a tiny bit (like 1/8 tsp) to make 14-15 bath bombs. Nurture soap is absolutely the best company to work with, and hardly any other company offers free shipping like they do. THANK YOU NURTURE SOAP for another fantastic product.
