Use Notes

Add Activated Charcoal to your soap making oils before adding your lye. Disperse thoroughly with a stick blender until it is fully mixed, then add your lye water. This will help achieve the darkest black.

Gel your soap! If you gel your soap if using activated charcoal your soap will turn very dark. Gelling is the secret to getting the blackest black with activated charcoal in cold process soaps.

Use Rate

CP Soap: Use 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of activated charcoal per pound of oils.
MP Soap: Use 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of activated charcoal per pound of soap base.

Blackest black

Just used this for the first time. It blends easily into CP soap and gives a deep rich black. It does create grayish lather at 2 tsp PPO, but seems to be lessening as my soap cures.
