Coral oranges... They can certainly be little tricksters in CP! True to many orange-based micas, they can be temperamental to temperature. Most colors put the "pop" in "CPOP", but an orange that gets too hot can sometimes decide to go peachy. My-oh-my though, this color is SO PRETTY, I thought, "That's just peachy with me!... Challenge accepted!". I went into my project fully expecting (and embracing) the fade. I'd heard it through the mica grapevine that this mica was identical in shade to a mica called "Always a Bridemaid" from a different supplier, and hearing raves for that mica, I was so excited to give "Coral Reef" a try! Let me just say that this mica didn't just meet my expectations, it exceeded them! I think I accounted for a bit of fading in my CP project a little TOO much though, I inadvertently took it the other direction & ended up with the most stunningly unanticipated results! THIS COLOR IS POSITIVELY BOLD & BEAUTIFUL!! If it ends up fading with cure, I'll certainly come back & update (and I will be THRILLED with this mica either way!), but for right now, I've got the most intensely GORGEOUS shade of coral orange my eyes have ever seen! I did use double my usual amount in my recipe, opting for 2 hefty tsps of mica PPO (instead, of my usual 1 level one) and I also left my soap insulated to keep it cooler, but I totally wasn't prepared for just how AWESOME this color turned out! As mentioned earlier, I really thought my results were going to be a soft, peachy-orange color, so if full cure yields a lighter result, I'll be just as equally pleased with this jaw-dropping shade! For the time being though, I've got beautifully vibrant color that is simply breathtaking! I can't wait to play around MORE with temps, usage rate & this phenomenal mica! I think the possibilities of various shade ranges are going to be so versatile & so much fun!!
