Use Rate

CP Soap: Dyes are not recommended for CP soap. They tend to morph, migrate into other colors, and bleed.
MP Soap: Dyes are absolutely wonderful for use in melt & pour and liquid soaps. Dilute the dye with a bit of water then add to your soap.
Bath Bombs: Dyes are best when bloomed before adding to your bath bomb recipe. Blooming means to dissolve a bit of dye in water first, then add to the baking soda that goes in your bath bomb mix.

Use Notes

The powder in the jar may look different than you expect! Dyes need to be added to water to turn into their true color.

Dyes are very concentrated! A little goes a very long way. Dye can stain hands, counter tops, or anything it touches. Wear gloves and protect all work surfaces.

Definitely orange

So I bought a variety of the batch certified dyes and got red 40.... Now, it was my fault for not reading because it definitely was clear that it is an orange color… That being said the color is been really pretty and I’ve got a light peach To a pretty vibrant orange in my bath bomb mixes. My only reason I haven’t rated it full starts is that I had troubles with it. Now this was a test mix so I could’ve definitely done something wrong… But I tested 3 separate batch’s (with different colors) and the second batch which was the red 40 turned super crumbly while the others performed well. I couldn’t save the red 40 batch, so I managed to use some as an embed for my bombs. I’m going to keep playing with it in hopes it was just a user error, otherwise it might be a pass for me.

Much more orange than I hoped for...

I just tried it and i had a hard time blooming my mix and getting it a rich orange color. It definitely could have been my own user error (I actually thought I’d grabbed the red 28 and was thinking I’d get a pink instead). I definitely liked the color I achieved and will look forward to trying to get a more intense red tone. It did work beautifully, as have all the other batch certified colors I purchased so far.

Brilliant red

This red surpassed my expectations. Used it in my Unicorn dust bath fizz. A little went a long way and you can't beat the price. Perfect red for Halloween themed bath bombs.

This red is a stand-out color! Very solid and vibrant, it is a warm-toned red with lots of life to it!

Confusing

I’ve used a little to a lot trying to achieve that beautiful red color but I haven’t accomplished it. This isn’t one of my favorites.

Great product

I use the Red 40 dye for my bath bombs and color is very strong and beautiful. Great and vibrant red color and disperse great in water. Little of dye goes long way.

True Red

I appreciate this dye for its True Red Color! It's not my favorite primary red for mixing, though still a beautiful deep Red!

Red dye

My son’s best friend, may as well be brother, wanted RED oatmeal milk and honey body wash, his fav color. Hubby said it looked pink right after I got done making it. It was from the air bubbles. It was absolutely red the next morning after bubbles cleared.

Works great in bath bombs!

I love using this dye in my bath bombs for a fun color! Dyes do fade in the sun, but I have no problem with fading if keeping the bath bombs in the shade when at sales. I will keep repurchasing!

Great product

Makes a lovely red in my bath bombs and embeds. Lasts a long time as a little goes a long way! I like using this red for embeds more than bb for true red.
